Lindy began studying yoga and meditation when she was 14, and has been in love with the practice ever since. Lindy is a fully Certified Hatha Yoga teacher and has trained extensively in both yoga and Mindfulness – an aspect of yoga she incorporates into all her classes. Her practice and study of yoga spans 28 years during which she has completed two full yoga Teacher Trainings (including a more traditional and very rigorous training and mentorship) as well as extensive studies in all aspects of yoga and mindfulness and postgraduate training. She is also a certified Yantra Yoga teacher, a form of yoga from the Tibetan tradition that focuses extensively on the breath.
At the age of 19 Lindy went to live with Buddhist monks and Nuns for several years to learn the art of meditation and mindfulness. She studied yogic philosophy extensively and learned both Buddhist Meditation practices and Tibetan and Indian traditions of yoga practice. She later gained a diploma in Dance and worked in theatre, with all these aspects inspiring her kids yoga classes and teaching.
Passionate about the impact yoga can have in the life of a child and grateful for her own early introduction to yoga, in 2009 Lindy founded Yoga Kids S.A in order to be able to bring the benefits of yoga and mindfulness into schools and kindergartens. Yoga Kids S.A. has been at the forefront of bringing yoga into schools in South Australian schools - delivering yoga in Schools programs to thousands of kids from Kindergartens through to High School in both public, private and independent schools in the Adelaide metro and hills regions. Lindy also teaches Family Yoga and Kids Yoga classes in the community through Yoga Kids S.A.'s school in Norwood. Her background in dance and acting is a useful asset in Children's Yoga can be seen in the creative & fun kids yoga class material she has developed and her teaching style.
As a children's yoga specialist, Lindy is often called upon to discuss the benefits of yoga for children in the media. Media appearances in this capacity include Channel 7 News, ABC Radio, the Advertiser and Channel 10's children's show "Totally Wild".
Additionally, Lindy has a BA in Psychology and brings her understanding of children's developmental psychology to her teaching and program development. Whilst running Yoga Kids S.A. she recently also completed a Masters in Social Work where she focuses on working with yoga and mindfulness with kids. As a qualified Social Worker she has brought yoga and mindfulness into a therapeutic and clinical setting working with refugee children, children from traumatic background and children and teens suffering from anxiety and depression. In 2015 Lindy was commissioned to write and deliver specialized yoga and mindfulness programs to be delivered to youth at risk.

She has also recently established Adelaide Mindful Yoga, which delivers Mindful Yoga, focusing on the link between yoga and mindfulness practice. She is regularly asked to run yoga retreats interstate in her capacity as a Yantra Yoga teacher.
Lindy regularly travels throughout Australia to train people how to teach Kids Yoga & Meditation. These training draw on Lindy's extensive experience of working as a full-time Kids Yoga & Mindfulness teacher and specialist for many years. Find out more about those training here.
She regularly returns to India and elsewhere to continue her professional development with her Teachers and Mentors in both yoga and mindfulness meditation.
